School’s OUT, Summer’s ON!

We did it!!

I can’t believe it!!

We made it through this insane school year!!

WOOHOO!!

And to celebrate both the end of the school year and the final day of contractors swarming the house, we finally removed everything from the garage for a much (much, much) needed deep cleaning after all this restoration mess.

We dragged the kiddos out to help when it came time for the water portion because they love it when Daddy “accidentally” sprays them, tehe.

And it was good, clean (pun intended) fun for everyone. :)

Really looks like happy, SUMMER fun, amiright???

I love these smiling faces.

It really was SUCH a relief to make it through today.

The final school day.

The final push to complete the kitchen restoration (minus the oven/microwave that is still on backorder).

And a majorly productive round of garage cleaning that gets us that much closer to completely normal around here.

It’s going to be a decent chunk of physical labor around here this weekend, to put everything back in the kitchen and clean and clear out the rooms where all of our kitchen items were stored.

But when that’s complete, we are really 99% done with this whole winter storm disaster, and considering its days away from JUNE...it’s about time!

In the end, even though the timing has been so hectic for the past couple of weeks, I’m so very grateful to have the restoration wrapping up in conjunction with the school year. It will make for a fantastic kickoff to the hot months. Getting reacquainted with our house and our restored pool. We are sooooo ready!

And also, sooooo thankful for the amazing teachers that made this school year such a joy for my babies. They were with actually all in tears because they didn’t want this to be the final day! I love how much they enjoy their educational environments. It seriously warms my heart, and I hope it stays that way for a long time to come!

I mean, in the last two weeks they had...

Movie days
Stuffed animal days
Camping days
Board game days
Wear your shoes off in the classroom days
Special snack time days
Use markers for everything days
A DJ on the playground blasting tunes
A tropical themed send-off from the teachers today

And...my favorite: a camp day for a Chicklet. They made tents out of their desks, cooked real s’mores with a pretend fire burning on the TV screen, and when a thunderstorm came (again, courtesy of the TV), the teacher went around making it “rain” by spritzing the kiddos with water. I mean, talk about making it joyful and going above and beyond. No wonder my babies were sad to see the school year end!

In all, I’m just so grateful to have completed a successful year, to be nearing full restoration of our house, and to be heading into a major change of pace and season.

We need it!

HAPPY FREAKING FRIDAY, everyone!!

Over and out.
