Little Man’s Storybook Pumpkin!

Hellooooo, peeps, and Happy Saturday!

Our crew has been inside most of the day, but we have been going nonstop with a bunch of crafting, cooking, laundry and Halloween shenanigans.

Notably, I spent decent chunk of my morning with my boy, helping him with his first little kindergarten project! :)

A Storybook Pumpkin!

This is an optional project all kindergartners can tackle for Halloween week. They select one of their favorite book characters and fashion a pumpkin to represent that literary love. No carving allowed, but otherwise, it’s all fun and games.

I still have such beautifully fond memories of Chicklet and I making her Storybook Pumpkin two years ago. She still has the decorative part on her bookshelf and puts it on a fresh pumpkin every Fall. :)

After a bit of perusing our bookshelves at home, Little Man went with one of our household favorites and I was so pumped.

I bought some heavier card stock and drew an outline last night (two, actually, in case Little Man made an error) so it was ready for him to beginning cutting out this morning.

He slept in a bit following his fever, chills and headache last night, and was in much better shape for this crafting fun today.

He’s such a perfectionist when it comes to his artwork and writing. Even his teacher shared that he’s such a strong little artist in class. :)

I seriously adore the finished product—and my boy—a massive amount. And this pic makes my heart smile. :)

Poor dude had a great day (including another really fun family project I’ll post about later), but then tanked a bit with his fever returning this afternoon. Booooo.

So it looks like we’ll be staying close to home again tomorrow so we don’t spread any germs.

But I’m so grateful we were able to tackle this fun project while we were home today and had the opportunity. It’s so nice when we can spend stress-free time doing this sort of schoolwork, ahead of deadlines and with the emphasis on the joy of the process.

More later, peeps.

Over and out!
