School Valentine Boxes—2022!

Well, peeps.

We’re nothing if not predictable.

Last year, on Thursday, January 28th, I posted pics of our lovely little school Valentine boxes:

And now this year, on Thursday, January 27th, I’m back at it, posting again, ha. Man, we really switched things up—by a good day or so. ;)

Also—please note Chicklet was a rainbow girl last year, and randomly selected rainbows again, ha. If you’ve seen her room, this comes as a big surprise, I know. ;)

This was Little Man’s selection for the year:

And this was Chica’s:

I know it might seem a bit early to begin assembly, but I’ve learned in the past that it takes us awhile to handle all of our Valentine goodies. Between addressing the cards and assembling any candy or toys, it can take several days to complete the prep.

Moreover, we typically only have a single day of the week after school when me manage to have time amidst extra-curriculars, homework and play dates for any sort of project. So when we had an unexpected bit of time yesterday afternoon (our little friends couldn’t meet for playground fun) and the kiddos’ moods were high and bright, we went for it!

In addition to tackling the kiddos’ boxes, we spent a bit of time earlier this week searching online for the actual Valentines. It was pretty easy to narrow down themed choices for the kiddos, and our selections have already arrived in the mail—woohoo!

Chica’s are these cute Harry ones you fold like paper airplanes:

And she’s going to give away these little keychain poppers (in super fun colors!) to go with them:

Little Man selected Mario (shocker, I know, tehe), and they’re a super cool lenticular style that makes the image move as you shift the card.

He’s giving out these awesomesauce Mario PEZ dispensers with them. Sure to be a big hit. :)

And Chicklet jumped on the chance to give away some BUGS, ha. I found these adorable mason bug jar Valentines that come with all sorts of critters you can attach to the card.

I’m grateful we had such an easy and fun time of the box assembly yesterday, and that the kiddos are each pretty darned pumped about their card/toy selections. I’m sure they’ll con me into buying some additional candy for their classmates, too, ha—especially since it’s allowed again this year.

Similar to my sentiments in yesterday’s post: I’m sooooo aware that next year will be the final chance for Chica to indulge in this particular brand of fun, as things shift so much come middle school. So I’m determined to squeeze every bit of joy out of these final two years as we can.

It’s one of the great joys of making a massive deal out of every event and holiday: you never have to look back and regret not celebrating it up right when you had the chance. So we’re gonna keep on keepin’ on with our Valentine fun as much as humanly possible!

SO grateful tomorrow if Friday, peeps. After last Monday’s holiday, Thursday’s “snow” day, and Chicklet’s illness, it was a short but wonky week, so this one’s felt extra long.

Happy Thursday!

Over and out.
