Bunny Gnomes!

Well, peeps.

By now, you know that nothing centers my familial universe quite like a bit of time to tackle a project. :) But given our school and life schedules of late, it’s been tricky finding the opportunities!

So what a lovely blessing-in-disguise when our standing Wednesday play date with friends was postponed, giving us the chance for some low-key HOME time after school.

Snacks, homework, a bit of quiet time, and then…reconvening for a springtime craft! With my lovely bunnies in hopping form, I might add. ;)

It really felt like a unicorn kind of afternoon, to not be rushing from one thing to the next. To have some room to breathe and tackle our do-dos and some fun—with plenty of silliness throughout.

A few weeks ago, I placed an online Tarjay order of a handful of spring/Easter projects. And even though we technically had the time to handle something a bit more complex today, I went with this simple, quick, but adorable one. Only two per box, so I doubled-up:

Hilariously, Little Man and Chicklet were both perfectly dressed to coordinate with their bunny gnomes, ha. And Chica actually was, as well—if I’d had the foresight to have her toss off her dark sweater for the pics. Gotta love a good, color-themed photo opportunity. ;)

And speaking of photo opportunity…little did I know when I suggested the kiddos wear the bright and happy bunny ears I snagged at the grocery store earlier that it would lead to an explosion of cuteness and hilarity.

Case in point (love how the green in his eyes pops in this pic, thanks to the ears):

Naturally, we just happened to already have bunny hands from a prior year. Because, why not???

We also have a tail somewhere…

I’d actually hidden some candy-filled Easter eggs in the kiddos’ school lunches today, so as soon as the bunny ears and the posing happened, my crazies ran to their backpacks to grab their eggs. I could cry over their innate desire for staging. My work here is done, ha.

Love this bunny-in-concentration-mode shot, tehe:

For the rest of the evening until dinner, they hopped around, gave each other “airplane” rides, and requested some additional Easter eggs (of course I have more). Happy babies, I tell ya.

In case it’s not obvious, I’m so grateful for this bit of time for crafting and ridiculousness today.

I continue to marvel at the way it feels like springtime is all new to me after a few years of crummy life happenings this time of year.

It’s the little blessings—like the trees blooming (but not the allergies they bring, ha), and the light changing, and the wardrobes morphing—that bring me joy these days.

Hope to continue the positive vibes tomorrow.

Happy Hop (I mean, HUMP) Day, peeps!

Over and out.
