St. Patrick’s Day—2022

Well, peeps.

It’s Leprechaun Day!!

And I just realized, TODAY, that there are people (mainly moms of young kiddos) out there who stage mischievous leprechaun shenanigans (think Elf On the Shelf kind of fun, but without any leprechaun present) to make it look like the little guys have snuck in and made a mess, and the thing I want to know is:

How did I not know about this before now???

This seems like exactly the kind of commercialized, overhyped, super-AWESOMESAUCE thing I would totally do, and I missed my chance this year! Though I think I’ll be smart enough to remember it for 2023. ;)

However. 

Last night, as my kiddos were picking out their green clothes for today and hopping about, all insanely pumped for this innocuous little holiday, it had me wondering why it felt like we haven’t lived up a little green fun in a few years.

And the answer is: we haven’t!

Because, last year, THIS was happening on March 17th:

They hadn’t even done the demo yet! Gahhhh.

And on March 17, 2020, we were only a few days into lockdown, and this was happening:



And on March 17, 2019, we’d just moved to San Antonio THE DAY BEFORE. Gahhhhhhh.

I mean, seriously.

Remember my post a couple months ago about Springtime causing me stress and anxiety because of the past few years and all the concentrated tough things that have happened???

Well. This is why, ha.

So it felt EXTRA-SPECIAL LOVELY to just enjoy our green today, bust out our adorable head gear, tackle our homework, meet up with friends for a playground play date, and just enjoy some NORMALCY without any disasters!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2022, indeed!

Chicklet’s lovely teacher even sent me this adorable shot from school today. :)



And, look. Chica busted out her very old shamrock bracelet!
