After several really busy weeks, we’ve been enjoying this three-day weekend in majorly lazy way.
We let the kiddos have a ton o’ iPad time, we cooked and baked and did family haircuts, watched some TV, tackled low-key laundry, and just kept a slower pace. And it was needed.
And thanks to that slower pace, I was able to finally set up a project I’d planned for the kiddos quite a few weeks ago: a Spring Chicken Coop Decorating Contest!
Much like our Halloween Haunted House decorating contest, we fashioned this challenge after our baking shows we enjoy so much.
We gave the kiddos a limited amount of time, set instructions, and a last-minute twist to add to their overall decor. And then we “deliberated” and awarded various compliments.
It was all in good fun and a great break for our laziness. :)
After time was up, we brought each of the kiddos in, one at a time, to talk through their designs—just like in the baking shows. Their excitement and nerves was SO adorable as each of them spoke about their creations. :)
Love these babies and some silly, happy Saturday fun.

Hoping for another day of low-key family time.
Happy Saturday, peeps!
Over and out.
