I will be the first to admit that my attitude over the past 24 hours hasn’t been the best.
I navigated the topsy turvy schedule and rotation of sick kiddos this week fairly well…until yesterday afternoon, when I hit my limit.
Oh, well.
It was bound to happen.
But as I mentioned yesterday, we still utilized the sick day to the best of our ability and started busting out alllllll of our Halloween decorations. We watched Casper, we had a ton of solid spooky time. And tonight, we kept the fun going with more decorating, and a viewing of…
HOCUS POCUS!
Of course, it’s always been a beloved movie, but there’s such a fantastic bit of renewed buzz right now, with the loooooong-coming sequel coming out in two weeks—woohoo!
We tried to share the original with the kiddos two years ago, but they just weren’t ready. We made it through a little more than half and decided to call it. There were just a tad bit too young and scared by it.
But now—as with Casper—they’re at the perfect age(es) to appreciate lots of the humor, talk through any of the scary bits and understand it’s not all that spooky, and really get a kick out of being in the know.
It was a great family viewing. And definitely the positive note we needed for the end of this wonky week.
I have grand plans to re-set mentally and around our messy, decoration-strewn household so we can all start FRESH and organized come Monday.
But in the meantime…at least all kiddos were at school today (!). And it’s really fun to look around and see how Halloween-y it is in our casa. :)
And, yes, we’re waiting a respectable week or two (as close to October as I can stand!) before we decorate outdoors, ha.
