Breckenridge 2023–Day 1!

Okay, peeps.

Bronchitis, begone(ish)! No time for lingering over germs and hacking coughs because the next adventure is upon us! All thanks to this lovely lady, who is having a big birthday in a couple weeks. :)

To celebrate the milestone occasion, our crew was lucky enough to sync up with little bro, his wife and daughter—plus birthday girl, Nanna—and head up to…Breckenridge, for a few glorious days!

Our family is always in favor of Colorado travel, especially during the summertime, and we’ve been slowly but surely making our way to locations within driving distance of an easy flight to Denver. (Though we’ve also had on amazing Colorado Spring round.)

Here are a few posts from the last handful of years—including Vail, Glenwood Springs, Boulder, Estes Park, and Colorado Springs. So many fun memories and beautiful locations:

This round is off to an equally picturesque start, with a great condo location, complete with a lovely living room view:

After arriving yesterday in Denver, making the drive up and getting our bearings, tackling some logistics and a shopping run, we began fresh this morning with downtown wandering and a trip up the gondola to ride up to the Epic Discovery area.

Look! We managed morning family pics! The whole gang—even me, in that last shot—thanks to a friendly resident. :)

We actually chose to bypass the more expensive Epic Discovery options like rock climbing and ropes courses (which wouldn’t have worked for the whole crew, anyway), and instead settled in a lovely play area that kept everyone entertained with a beautiful view. :)

Yup. I brought a plethora of “70” photo props, and I’m forcing them to be used liberally. ;)

Then back down to Main Street for a fantastic pizza lunch outdoors—followed by more coffee and sweets runs. And bonus superfluous hanging basket flower pics. ;) Sooooo many beautiful flowers about town, I can’t help but take pictures!

With little niece napping, some of the rest of us headed off to a beautiful 1.3-mile hike up to Sawmill Reservoir. The path was beautiful, often along a babbling brook, and it was just the right amount of exercise. We made it up and back down in just shy of an hour.

Love, love this pic of Chicklet by the water. One of my faves of the day:

Another brief round of regrouping and restoring at the condo, and then off to a yummy Thai dinner.

Mor fun mañana!

Until then…over and out, peeps.
