Breckenridge 2023–Day 4!

Well, peeps.

We’re winding down our time here in Breckenridge, but we made the most of our last full day with a whole day out and about, walking, walking, walking.

We were at loose ends a bit this morning, after the rest of our family departed. It’s unusual for us to have four full days in any vacay locale, and we hadn’t really planned much. So…we improvised!

We headed out to breakfast…

Took a loooooong meandering walk across downtown to head toward a specific trail we were tracking…

And eventually made it to the Trollstigen Trail so we could find…

Isak Heartstone, the (Danish-made) Breckenridge Troll!

He’s about 15 feet tall and really coolio—set down a short little trail that’s so shaded and peaceful.

Naturally, we took about a gazillion pics, ha.

Then off we went, allllll the way back across town for lunch.

I didn’t take many pics for most of the afternoon, because we spent it ducking in to shop after shop, and snacking our way through Main Street, until we took an hour long break at an arcade…

Then off to another amazing pizza dinner (this peach, basil, prosciutto, goat cheese and honey…I DIE)…

And, lastly, some gelato. :)

It’s a good thing we walked approximately 2,743 miles today, across a solid eight-ish hours, to help counteract alllllll the amazing food we’ve had.

We get to have a bit of a slow start waking up and packing before the drive back to Denver, since our flight is later in the afternoon than we remembered. It will be a long travel day, but it will be nice to sleep in our own beds!

More mañana, peeps.

Over and out.

P.S. Okay. Because it’s likely I’ll get a bit lazy (and/or the opposite, and crazy-busy) upon our return and might not post any other wrap-up shenanigans of our trip…here’s a Best Of regarding our food in Breckenridge, in case I ever need to remember. We’ve have some GOOD grub.

Blue Goose (breakfast)
Mimi & Pin’s (insane churros and empanadas)
Tin Plate (hands down best GF, DF pizza crust, EVER)
Hearthstone (our fancier meal in a beautiful house)
Flip Side (fantastic burgers; mine was wild mushroom)
Big Bear Bistro (in Vail; the masterpiece sandwich is BEYOND)
