This year felt a bit different for two reasons:
This year felt a bit different for two reasons:
1) I wasn’t originally supposed to be in town (hi, Nanna!) so we hadn’t made official plans.
2) We’ve spent many of our recent Easter holidays in Tulsa! Other than the early days of pandemic lockdown, we haven’t been on our home turf for years.
Also. I lied. There’s a third reason this year felt different:
3) I can’t remember a recent (or any?) year when Chicklet’s birthday weekend coincided with Easter. So there were a lot of moving parts—plus some car shenanigans—and lots o’ exhaustion.
So…that trifecta made things a bit unusual, but we pulled it together with mostly-coordinated outfits we had on hand, a last-minute brunch reservation by luck, a backyard egg hunt, and happy Easter baskets.
But best of all (and the WHOLE POINT OF IT ALL!): a glorious Easter service at our home church. With some incredible music and a packed house. So joyful it made me tear up during the first song.
So there you have it! Our 2024 Easter: Roll With It style. ;)
