I know there was a total eclipse today and all that, but please allow me to share something infinitely more rare: the sight of my empty laundry baskets:

The glorious and moody vibe of that half hour the hubby and I stole after lunch, before the eclipse. We snuggled with our youngest girl and snuck twenty minutes of TV, and it was heaven…
Also heavenly…the incredible vibe of the eclipse. With cloud cover dampening the whole rare event in our neck of the woods, we almost stayed inside. But, boy, am I glad I dragged us out. It was so fun to stand there as darkness descended—and the dawn/dusk landscape lights even came on. This was our lighting at the height of it…
Another glorious sight: my Chicklet with her nose in a book. If never, ever gets old. But please note her squinty look of concentration, as she’d left her glasses in her backpack…
It slays me how much she’s aged herself up in the past week with her new trend of pulling her hair back…
There are so many other odds and ends to catch up on, but for now…HAPPY TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE DAY!
