Chica’s Confirmation Banquet

Goodness, it’s officially MAY, which means the calendar is packed, the heat is ramping up, and the kiddos (and teachers and parents) are ready for summer!

But there are so many milestones to hit over the next four weeks before the school year officially ends, and one of the biggest and best is Chica’s official Confirmation and first communion, this coming weekend.

I’ll share more after the official happening on Saturday, but for now, I’ll just say that I’m so proud of my girl for all the work she’s done, and I have faith that she’s set a beautiful foundation for, well…her faith. :)

In honor of the big day this weekend, our church hosted a small banquet on Monday to honor all the Confirmands. It was a busy evening with lots of moving parts for our household, so we were a bit rushed getting there, but it was a lovely way to make things feel really official.

And, of course, my girl wore one of her current favorite dresses and looked happy and dressy-casual.

Earlier this year, each of the students had to select a personal Confirmation verse, and I adore Chica’s chosen one. She had the option of selecting from a pre-generated list, but she connected with this simple and powerful one, all on her own:

Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

And what a beautiful gift she received from the church: her verse engraved on a necklace:

I’m so excited for this coming weekend and the family that will be in town to celebrate this milestone.

It’s nothing but go, go, GO this time of year, but all good things!

More mañana, peeps!

Over and out
