It’s been a whirlwind few days (plus a sick kiddo)since my return from NYC—just as I knew it would be!
And we’re hosting our massive, raucous, 4th annual, Flash Craft Holiday Party for the kiddos and their friends in 48 hours, so…when say I have a to-do list nearly as long as Santa’s, I kinda mean it, ha.
In the weeks prior to Thanksgiving, I knew this is what our consecutive weekends looked like:
-Pickelball Friendsgiving
-Thanksgiving in Tulsa
-NYC
-Flash Craft Party
-Family in town FOR CHRISTMAS
Literally, every weekend with something major. Plus a gazillion odds and ends throughout and in between. Concerts, rehearsals, class holiday parties, extra-curriculars, festive commitments with friends and for school…just all the things everyone juggles this time of year!
So I knew I needed to decorate early and often and get our festive spirit on, to knock it out, before that first Friendsgiving event. And, thank goodness, I did! Because there’s been no rest for the wicked. ;)
One particular bit of decorating brought me a lot of spontaneous joy: the kiddos’ bedroom trees!
I was pleasantly surprised one late-afternoon on a Sunday, when they suddenly became uber-pumped to trim their happy trees. :)
I think I was starting to worry they were aging out of finding joy in this task, but it turns out, we just needed to find the right FREE moment—and that’s rare these days!
In addition to the kiddos’ trees, and our fun, new Land of Sweets-themed living room tree, I turned the study tree into a…
Harry Potter Tree, this year!
I had a lot of fun utilizing the House colors as the foundation, and even borrowed Chica’s Sorting Hat for a tree topper. We have so many precious Harry ornaments that I’m surprised I hadn’t thought of this, sooner!
The dining room tree became our Travel Tree, full of precious souvenir ornaments for our travels throughout the years…
One, of course, one of my favorites is always the kitchen Baking/Cooking Tree, but I’m lame, and didn’t snap finished pics, ha.

Our house never looks happier or more festive than just before one of our holiday parties. It’s a TON of work to plan, prep, clean, and then recover and repair from one of these events, but…it’s absolutely worth it!
Okay, more soon! (But probably not until after the party, ha.)
Happy Hump Day!
Over and out.
