Chica’s Orchestra/Sea World Field Trip!

Man, peeps.

What a week! What a DAY! And what a weekend we still have ahead of us! (Oye.)

As you might have guessed from my lack of posting, this week, the trend continues: we are insanely busy, but it’s mostly good stuff.

Just go-go-go, and super tiring!

But, today, I had the great exhaustion—and JOY—of chaperoning a whole eleven hours of Chica’s orchestra competition and subsequent Sea World excursion.

It was hot, it was fun, it was lively.

I had a fantastic group of six girls I already know, and it was honestly a privilege to make time for this kind of memory making:

Did I mention the heat??? 92 degrees, today. In early April. Boooo.

I’m going to post this one because the faces are pretty blurry, so I think it’s okay, and it’s too, darn fun:

You know, as I’m sitting here on the charter bus, headed back to the middle school, sifting through these pics and typing this post, I’m having a bit of a nostalgic moment.

Sometimes, it’s wild to realize how much time has flown by. We’ve been in San Antonio for six years, now, and, for all intents and purposes, this is where we’re raising our family.

We had some beautiful (very) early childhood memories in McKinney, and I adored it, there, but…this is all my kiddos truly know or remember, now.

In fact, it’s extra-trippy to stop and think about the first field trip I quasi-attended when we moved here—also for Chica, also to Sea World.

It was a day that wasn’t great, if I’m honest. You can read more about it here:

But as I sit here and reflect on that day, compared to this day, and allllll the life we’ve lived between then and now, I’m ridiculously grateful to have a sense of peace and happiness over my kiddos’ ongoing childhood and adolescence—and my participation in these kinds of events.

The days are long (very long), but the years are short, peeps.

Not much rest for the weary this weekend, but I’m still looking forward to it!

More, soon, peeps!

Over and out.

P.S. Adult bodies are not meant for rollercoasters. My neck might not have any range of motion mañana.
