We’re bouncing around with the timelines, here, but it’s a must to share pics of some of the other lively happenings of the last two days!
First up—pitch black (and I do mean pitch black) hide ‘n seek!
The hubby’s sister and fam played this somewhere else with some buddies and went though the amazing trouble of blacking out their own casa with tin foil on any windows and doors—and everything else possible!—that could let in a shred of light, so our kiddos could experience it, as well.
We waited until full DARK outside and one round took about 45 minutes with the hubby acting as seeker. I’m proud to report that I wasn’t found first, ha, and that’s all I was aiming for!
I’ll also have to ask for forgiveness instead of permission that I’m sharing this pic, because it’s just too funny—especially my nephew’s hardcore hiding outfit, tehe.

If you ever have an opportunity to go through the trouble of setting it up, it would definitely be a crowd pleaser. :)

Next up…last night after our Woolaroc day and some dinner out, the grandparents geared up for our annual water balloon fight.
It’s a thing my kiddos have always loved (and even added to their Summer Bucket List for this year)—and I was especially glad to have a reason to stay dry while acting as Coda pup’s guardian, ha.
This was about as close to the action as I ventured, this year:

I’m sorry to report that I had a pretty brutal migraine the first day we arrived (a big storm rolled in with a huge barometric pressure change).

I’m usually a trooper and I’m able to power through without much life interruption. But this one has taken its toll.
I don’t like to complain much or draw a bunch of attention, but the active phase was a pretty rough one this go-‘round, and the postdrome phase (that I refer to as my migraine-hangover headache) has been a whole thing. Lots of lingering burning pain and some significant exhaustion.
I hope peeps forgive me if I’ve been slightly low energy through some of our planned activities. I’d hate to miss any of it, even if I have to power down into a lower gear and not converse as much.
It’s such a lovely reminder that you never know what kind of health or mental challenges your fellow humans are working through on a daily basis, so grace is always the best operating baseline. :)
Okay…back to water balloon pics!

I love the core memories that my kiddos have associated with Tulsa in the Summer.

Woolaroc and water balloons are definitely the two major ones and it’s a joy to rotate in all sorts of others each year—like Hide ‘n Seek or this awesome augmented reality experience we had two days ago. I’m grateful for all the thought the grandparents and fam put into keeping everyone happy and entertained. :)
Okay, peeps.
More, later!
Over and out.
