Pre-Thanksgiving—2025!

Okay, peeps.

We’re here with family for the official holiday (!), and I’m so grateful!

But before time gets away from me, and I start sharing our adventures away from home, I wanted to share our little pre-Thanksgiving nesting from last weekend, because it was a much-needed respite amidst our craziness.

It’s become tradition to cook our own meal before we travel, because everybody does the whole shebang a bit different. Plus, the obviously has some tricky gluten-free, dairy-free requirements, so we’ve got our main dishes down to a science and he adores getting his fill whenever possible.

Without any hosting responsibilities this year (like, at all), it felt light and joyous to spend the time and energy making this meal because it was entirely a choice. :) Plus, any chance to see a lovely table gets our crew extra happy, so it’s a win/win!

It was such a lovely meal in the dining room all together, and I’m thankful for the time to make it happen. Earlier that morning, after church, I was struck down by a killer migraine, so to rally and eat something yummy felt like an extra-special feat. With holiday music playing, Coda girl with us, and everybody in a happy-go-lucky mood, it felt like just the boost we needed before the busyness of our travel.

On Monday, we managed a solid mix of productivity and packing—mixed in with just a bit of down time—that left us feeling pretty prepared for our departure, and all things considered, that felt like a huge victory!

More in a future post about Little Man’s science fair project we had to complete just before we left town, as well. Nothing like a big school project due on the flip side of the break, amiright?

Okay, more posts soon, peeps! (I hope!)

Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Over and out.
