We survived the first week of school!
And all felt relatively stable and just the appropriate amount of overwhelming, which is amazing.
Aaaaaand….because it’s August, and August means Fall is around the corner, and spooky somethings are appearing everywhere (be still, my heart!), my crazies noticed that Spirit Halloween opened and begged to go there as a Friday treat, in honor of closing out the first five school days.
Needless to say—we obliged. ;)
And, now, we have this roaming the house, ha:
He may or may not have scared the bejeezes out of Chicklet when she was showering. Bahaha.
Truly, I adore, adore, adore this time of year, when allllllll the holidays are before us, and there’s nothing but happy anticipation.
Chicklet was the driving force behind visiting the store ASAP, but we were all totally game. Even the hubby, who came home with a fog machine to amp up our spooky outdoor decorations this year, tehe.
Chica is still deciding between two finalist costume choices, but Little Man and Chicklet were ready to commit: Little Man as a reaper, and Chicklet as a sorceress/witch—complete with an awesomesauce black cat, naturally.

And the best part??? Zero risk! How did I never know that I could return or exchange up until a few days before Halloween???!! Do you know how much money I could have saved all these years?!
Here’s hoping this will be the year when they all make their costume decisions and stick to them, but, if not, at least I won’t be out all the money!
Heading into another week feeling pretty solid, so here’s hoping we can keep this level behavior going—even when heavier homework and tons of after school meetings and commitments start rolling in!
