Okay, peeps.
Our third day in Vancouver might have been my fave, because it featured a winning excursion:
A 12-kilometer, three hour bike tour through Stanley Park!
(And, like, old-school bikes, not E-bikes, ha.)
Our crew tends to love a solid, active trip excursion, to begin with. But this one was super-boosted so many things we love, because it enabled our three tweens/teens to be totally engaged and independent during this physical activity that showed us a famous part of the city.
What more could you want???
I gotta say: had I know we'd be winding through insanely business downtown streets for several miles, so close to traffic, I probably would have opted out. But our kiddos were champs and I think they felt pretty proud of themselves for being more than capable.
It's nice to have reached these years where they're all physically old enough to navigate a bike tour like this. A win/win!
Okay...pics!
My favorite stretch of the park was the bit through an incredible forrest (where they filmed some of Season 2 of The Last of Us) --including this stop to see a 125-year-old Douglas Fir, where I channeled my inner Tree Hugger:
Definitely a thumbs-up experience, and a great activity to round out our time in Vancouver.
More, soon, on our transition to Whistler!
Over and out.
