I took these pictures of my little one earlier this week, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that they'll be some of my most cherished shots of these first few months of her life.
I don't know what it is, but there's something about them that's just so lovely and dreamy. It's as though I'm seeing the world through her new, explorative little eyes. Plus, it helps that I caught the sun coming through the window so wonderfully. It all added up to perfection (in my humble opinion). Or, at least as close to perfection as you can get with an iPhone and zero knowledge of photography.
She's staring at the "You Are My Sunshine" print on her wall that has suddenly captured her undivided attention these days. She stares at it--and sometimes her vines and flowers--as though it holds all the answers to questions she doesn't even know she has, yet. Seriously, she can stare, unblinking, for minutes on end. And you know how long that is for an infant!
This pose was so beautiful and relaxed:
Such joy and wonder in those big, beautiful eyes. I hope it stays there forever.
