Honeycomb Shelf Funny Fail

I've learned by now that every nursery has one.

You know, that brilliant project that turns into an epic pain-in-the-a**.

Well today, we encountered ours. (Though I must admit to being slightly worried, since this is the first major thing we've attempted for Baby Boy's nursery--ha. Maybe we're just getting our problem project out of the way, yes??)

Anywho...theses are the honeycomb shelves that caused us the pain:

Nifty, huh? Especially once we add the flair I have planned (more on that tomorrow).

But...major complication: although we wanted a larger shelving impression, the honeycombs just come in threes, so you have to piece them together.

And for whatever reason, the hubby--while I was busy working on the flair--had trouble hanging the first dang section.

So here is is, laughing at me, because I was so busy laughing at him that I almost wet my pregnant self, because he'd just spent 90 minutes (and a few holes in the wall) to hang this section. Crooked. For the second time. But he wasn't laughing until I was laughing. Oh, no. He was busy yelling at the shelf (with a lot of four letter words he never uses), then snapping at me when I could no longer hold in my snickering.

Luckily, his pregnant wife huddled on the floor laughing so hard she was crying brought him around to the humor of the situation.

:)

And I'm happy to report that two of the three sections eventually made it up on the wall. Straight, I might add. And with the oops holes already patched up and drying overnight, I have high hopes that the third section will be successfully and painlessly hung tomorrow. Plus flair.

Happy Saturday, peeps!
