First Pumpkins & Cookies of the Season!

With gobs and oodles (technical terms) of seasonal cuteness on display in every store now, it's impossible not to get swept up in the fun of getting our seasonal groove on.

And since our house is already getting mighty spooktacular, I figured we might as well go all in and buy our first small pumpkins--even if there's no chance of them making it until Halloween (hey, at least they were only $2.47).

Over the last few years, we've collected a handful of adorable Mr. Potato Head pumpkin kits, so that's what we always ease in with. And, naturally, we put Nanna to work poking holes with the screwdriver, since she's in town for a visit.

Though, Chica was a pretty enthusiastic hole-maker-helper, with her adorable I'm-pushing-with-all-my-strength face.

Heeeere's our ghost:

And heeeere's our pirate:

Though he's destined to be an armless pirate, since it's Chicklet's very favorite thing to steal the pumpkins' arms, ha.

So...I forgot to mention at the start of this here post that we were multitasking whilst pumpkin-making.

Mama was busy making sugar cookie dough (with Chicklet's sometimes help) while the Potato Head fun was-'a-happenin'.

Oh course, everybody was most interested in taste-testing :)

But they still did a great job of the cookie cutter bit--with bats and cats and witch's hats and spider webs and pumpkins.

And then we decorated them the next day (but I was too busy regulating the sprinkle mess radius to take many pics.

So instead of beautiful shots of the finished cookies, I'll sign off with these hilarious pics of my over enthusiastic-with-the-tools Chica, who had to drill one last hole in each pumpkin stem ;(

Over and out, peeps.
