Orlando 2018–Day 3

Oh. My. Goodness.

What a joy today was.

Like, pure joy to be able to accomplish something I thought would be years in the making.

We made it to Vero Beach to see my dearest friend on the planet, Godmother to my beautiful babies, chef extraordinaire and all-round Superwoman. And the loveliest hostess with the mostest.

Yup. That’s me and the kiddos’ one and only Godmother, on her stomping grounds in Vero.

I seriously thought it would take us several more years to manage this excursion with the kiddos—which made this day extra sweet.

It was a fairly easy two-hour drive from Orlando, and it was worth it a million times over for the company and the fun.

Little Man may or may not have christened the pool two minutes after our arrival, when he stepped out onto one of the rafts he assumed was solid, like some colorful stepping stone.

And Daddy may or may not have hurled himself in immediately to rescue and remove one startled little boy.

Not gonna lie, it was a bit hilarious and we were right by the edge when the oopsies happened and perfectly within grabbing distance of Little Man—even if Daddy hadn’t jumped bodily in. But Daddy was a rockstar, Little Man had an adult’s hand on his collar like a leash for the rest of the day, and it was a bang up way to get the adventure started!

The kiddos stalked the poor cat...

And had a blast with pool noodles—before and after delicious Godmother brunch.

And then we drove a few minutes down the road to...the beach and it’s gorgeous aqua waters!

To say the kiddos had a blast in the sand for a couple of hours would be an understatement. And I was soooo happy to finally meet Godmother’s dear friend and her kiddos, who met us at the beach. :)

What a gorgeous day it ended up being when the forecast was iffy. So grateful for the sunshine.

We capped our outing off with a visit to the sweets shop for lots o’ sugar.

And then stopped back at the house to grab some belongings before kidnapping one lovely Godmother back to Orlando.

A beautiful, happy, day.

:)

Disney tomorrow!
