Father’s Day—2018

To date, I’ve posted thousands (yes, thousands!) of entries on this here blog over nearly six (yes, six!) years, and I could not be more grateful for this diary of sorts of our young family life.

I mean, the pictures, the milestones, the disasters, the memories...it’s all in here for us to look back on anywhere, anytime.

But there’s one thing I can’t put on this here blog (believe me, I’ve tried to find a way), and it’s arguably one of my very favorite things in the whole wide world.

It is, quite simply, the sound of joy.

Every night—either when he comes home from work, or after dinner is finished (if he’s running late)—the hubby tracks down the kiddos wherever they may be, and breathes life and happiness and silliness, and joy into them with his magical teasing and joking and chasing and playing.

And the sound is absolutely the best thing ever. Quite literally the most beautiful music to my ears, and it can only be orchestrated by the very best daddy in the whole wide world.

He is undoubtedly the smile-maker and joy-bringer of our family unit, and we’re so blessed that he’s ours.
