Pretty Pinecones

So...

Before we left the lake during our vacay, I had the thought that we really really needed to take advantage of all the pine cone gorgeousness!

I mean, come on! Just look at it!

Pine cones are so great for oodles of projects, but it’s just not quite the same if you just order a dozen through Amazon (and, yes, of course you can do that, and I almost have many times). It’s so much better if you have the chance to find your own.  :)

So...as I was packing up the last of the suitcases, I sent the kiddos out our hotel patio door and into the beautiful wild to snag some to bring home.

And seven out of eight that they procured actually made it home in one piece. Woohoo!

And Tuesday, we painted. :) And then sprinkled them with glitter, just for good measure.

And then today, we dropped one off to our next door neighbor, who was so kind to water our pots while we were away. And since she’s a grandmother and also just returned a couple weeks ago from HOTLANTA, where her son lives, she got a big kick out of it.

See...spreading the love is always happy.

In other happy news...after we dropped off the pine cone, we spent some time doing sidewalk chalk before the heat got too oppressive.

We also played with some lovely new glitter play doh, and had some pool time in the early afternoon. Oh, and I got a little time tonight with some of the neighborhood ladies I’m getting to know, now that we’ve had a few monthly Bunco evenings. :)

It’s been a low-key kind of week (ceiling holes, not withstanding), and without a long to-do list for the weekend, things are looking lovely and chill.

Happy normal summer week, m’peeps.

Over and out.
