The Girlies’ First Holiday Church Choir!

Oh my goodness, peeps, despite the GERMS that are beginning to marinate in our casa (begone, BEGONE!), I’m starting to feel the same level of peace leading up to Christmas that I did prior to Thanksgiving.

Basically, we’ve just had such a lovely run up to the holiday. We’ve been able to take advantage of our traditions and projects and house elves and shopping craziness and baking—and most importantly, the reason for the holiday (Jesus!) that I feel like the actual day of Christmas will just be the icing on the cake.

Because the season has been lovely.

(Now, remind me of this peaceful, grateful sentiment when we’re all down and out sick in a few days, ha).

And one major contributor to this happy, seasonal feeling was our church day this past Sunday. For the first time, both girlies were old enough to sing in the choir (not too much longer, Little Man!) and as with everything relating to our new church, it was fantastic.

It was a total morning of it, since they sang in two services, but our new church and its children ministry is such a well-oiled machine that they had everything down to a science and it was a really positive experience for the girlies (even for Chica, who was initially a little nervous to be up there.). And there were 81 adorable munchkins up there in such an adorable choir!

The whole service was truly spectacular (I mean, tons o’ great music, and there were pyrotechnics, ha. In a fairly conservative denomination!).

Thankfully, the services were entertaining enough that the morning breezed by with more fun than waiting around or angst. And there was plenty to do on the church campus during the short lulls. All in all, a very happy day that helped to center us around the true importance of this whole crazy season!

(Please note Chicklet’s rose bush battle scars, ha.)

A happy church memory, for sure, and a lovely final advent season service for us before we’re away for the holiday. :)

Okay, peeps. If all goes according to plan, I’m going to attempt another one or two catch-up posts today. But you know how that goes. Here’s hoping! ;)

Over and out.
