Distancing Day 5: We Made It A Week!

Well, m’peeps.

We made it through our first at-home school week, and we’re still standing (well, sprawled out, exhausted in bed, but samesies, right?).

Our day was slightly tougher with more in-fighting amongst siblings, and rain that kept us from being outdoors for a little physical education time, but honestly, the moods amongst my kiddos often plummet by Friday during a normal week, so it wasn’t so out of the ordinary.

The headline for the day (and pretty much every other day for the foreseeable future) is this:

Necessity is, indeed, the mother of invention.

I mean, look at Chicklet’s awesomesauce cowgirl boots she fashioned herself, hehe.

She also made a paper saddle and reign (that you can’t see in this shot) for her unicorn (pigicorn?) so she could complete the ensemble, ha. And that was all before breakfast was cleaned up. ;)

Also...while we speaking about my Chicklet, let’s go ahead and mention that she’s got a birthday coming up in a little over a week, and she’s going to be six. SIX. I can’t even.

These two pics were taken right after the amazon delivery guy rang the door bell (right behind her, there), and she figured out that the delivery might be something for her birthday, tehe.

Good thing I was fairly organized and planned ahead this year. Going to be quite the creative, confined celebration, ha. Anything to give this cutie pie a happy, happy day, and more smiles and mischievous eyes. :)

In other Day 5 news...our one “new” thing for today: busting out our beloved Osmo!

We utilized thus so much last summer, and then it fell by the wayside come Fall. We’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of all the games and applications, and all three kiddos are really into it, so we’re going to try to work it in to our daily schedule.

Doodle Time continues to be a wild success for us. And usually takes anywhere from 60-90 minutes!

Honestly, we’re not yet having trouble filling our days. It’s almost the opposite. We’re packing a lot in, so we don’t leave room for the stir crazy. (Side note: did I mention Chicklet lost her other front tooth a few days ago??? I adore the gappy stage).

And in other diverting news...the kiddos are spending so much more time upstairs in the playroom (duh), and are totally making forts and cozy “structures” during their play.

But they’ve been fighting over their two cozy anywhere chairs, so we busted out Chica’s fun inflatable chair that hasn’t been out for many months.

So here’s hoping to solve for heiny seating for all—and less bickering!

Wishing everyone that same health and sanity combo.

Over and out.
