A Magical (Harry!) Symphony

Okay, peeps.

It’s been one heck of an insane Saturday.

After a crazy couple days of prior to that, and…well, I feel like that’s just life right now—and indefinitely, ha.

But amidst all the insanity, Chica and I enjoyed a truly “magical” bit of fine arts: a special mother/daughter outing with friends of ours to see a philharmonic live performance of Harry Potter!

I adore this Mama friend of mine, and Chica is besties with her daughter, and we all selfishly love to spend time other—and Chicklet and Little Man often join the fun, as well.

Welp, Chica and her friend both play violin in the orchestra at their school, and they also take private lessons from the same instructor outside of school. This fantastic instructor of theirs is a member of the San Antonio Symphony, and she told us about a really fun performance this weekend:

A special showing of the first Harry Potter movie, with the symphony playing the score LIVE. It was so stinking much fun! At the same gorgeous theater downtown where we went to see Wicked over Christmas. :)

It was so fun to have lovely orchestra seats where we could spot the girlies’ instructor so well, and enjoy the movie with the really immersive musical experience. Plus, the conductor encouraged audience participation, so there was a lot of cheering and jeering over favorite scenes and characters, which just added to the joy.

It’s so lovely to be able to sync up with a friend I adore with the bonus of Chica spending time with one of her closest friends. It’s a blessing when personalities sync up that way. Having the drive time to chat chat chat and catch up on life was a definite highlight amidst allllll the craziness of these past weeks—plus, some special Chica time.

I’ll share more about other house and life happenings mañana, peeps.

For now, it’s time to pass out!

Happy Saturday. :)

Over and out.
