Madam (Choir) President!

Hellooooo, peeps, from the final weekend before SUMMER!

We are still pretty jam-packed with events and activities to wrap up this school year, and we’re actually on the way to one, right now (!), so I’ll have to keep this one short, but I don’t want to miss the chance to share an amazing bit of news from Friday night, when…

Chica was appointed the 2025-2026 Choir Council PRESIDENT! Woohoo!

My girl has always been a such a happy songbird! Not only has she always loved music and singing, but she’s happily participated in her school choirs from the first opportunity in 5th grade. :)

This year, in 7th grade, she was appointed Vice President of her grade-level, and enjoyed her involvement on the council so much (organizing fundraisers, spirit events and social outings/outreach) that she decided to apply and interview for the role of President for next year.

Her wonderful choir director was very vocal about encouraging Chica to apply, so we guessed her chances of being appointed might be high, but we didn’t find out until Friday night, at the end of the Pop Show Choir Concert, live and in front of everyone!

The announcement and reaction from the auditorium was pretty spectacular. Mortifying and amazing. I love that my girl got a lot of public love, whether she wanted it or not, ha.

She also had a few extra friends there for fun and support that night, which was lovely.

On top of the Presidential appointment, Chica also received the Outstanding Choir Member award for her grade level, which was pretty freaking awesomesauce.

She was also gifted some fun haul in thanks for her choir council participation this year—including this fun blanket!

My girl has definitely forged a wonderful fine arts path for herself, and I’m so grateful she gets so much personal joy out of it. I absolutely cannot wait to see what High School brings in one more year (yikes!), but music will fill her cup all her life, no doubt!

Okay…more adventures to be posted, soon, peeps!

Over and out.
