A Pain & Sprain Monday

Well, peeps.

It looks like we’re nothing but high or low, with nothing in between—and I’m not just talking about the temperatures, ha.

Following a wacky few ice days last week, we had a ridiculously wonderful family weekend—complete with SO MUCH gorgeous outdoor time (I mean, talk about whiplash Texas weather) it was insane. Plus some productive yard work, an impromptu neighbor-friends play date, tennis, church, yummy food…

All. Good. Things.

And then, today, we kind of tanked again.

Or maybe I should say that I tanked again, due to life and moods in my vicinity.

I started the morning with a fun round of Book Fair volunteering up at school, but then went straight from there to the orthopedist with Little Man, who…yeah. Injured himself. :(

Hello, sprain in his fourth and fifth finger. Boooo.

That’s what happens when he chases Chicklet around a messy playroom, falls over a giant stuffed orca whale, and braces his fall with his hand. Oye.

That round of whoopsies happened just before bedtime last night, and by morning, he was swollen in those fingers, wincing every time I tried to touch them, and refusing to move them.

Luckily (insert sarcasm here), this ain’t our first injury and we have an orthopedic practice on tap already. X-rays at least confirmed nothing was fractured, and for that I say: AMEN, HALLELUIAH!

The rest of the afternoon sort of continued along a very steady decline—and pretty much just imploded once the kiddos were home from school.

But, hey: nowhere to go but UP, right???

Happy (Wishful Thinking) Monday, peeps!

Over and out.
