4th of July Weekend—2022

Hellooooo, peeps, from 4th of July weekend!

After a handful of really crazy weeks, we finally pressed the pause button for some family time in town, without any travel until the end of the week, and, man, have we been soaking it up.

We kicked off the long weekend of re-set time with a Saturday pajama day. We didn’t step a single foot outdoors all day, scrounged for random food in the fridge and pantry—and baked a cake!—and just had some solid, quality, indoor time.

Then Sunday, we did the exact opposite, ha.

Other than a bit of low-key time at home in the early morning, we were gone for hours. Church, lunch, a ton of errands, a massive grocery pickup…it was a marathon 5-6 hours of tackling so many things that had been on the back burner.

Once home (around 5 p.m.), we regrouped for a fun round of (VERY hot) family tennis, and then headed straight home to jump in the pool during that golden hour when the sun was sinking. Glorious.

Then today, for the official 4th, it was a fun lunch out in the Pearl district, followed by a family movie down at the Riverwalk, and then home for a yummy meal and family game time.

Really, we SO needed this weekend of regrouping and spending time together (and cracking down on some pesky kiddo behavior, but more on that another day).

We’ve been having an absolute, jam-packed BLAST this summer, filled with so many fun activities and adventures. But with SO much more on the agenda for the second half of the summer, I’m really grateful to spend this week at home, regrouping and living in our family cocoon.

Okay…pictures galore, but going in reverse order. Starting with today:

I’m sort of jealous of this 4th of July t-shirt of Chica’s. I wish it came in my size!

Little Man’s Sonic, patriotic-themed shirt was an awesomesauce find, too. :)

No happy, new shirt find for Chicklet, but she was cozy in one of her faves.

Yummm, desserts.

Now, rewinding to yesterday and our tennis and swimming fun…

I lurv that Little Man is literally the color of a tennis ball, ha.

All the kiddos are digging tennis so much these days, we finally bought a ball basket and oodles of tennis balls to make the process a bit easier.

This might be one of my fave pics of my boy in ages. He’d just finished trash talking me on the tennis court, ha. Feeling pretty entertained by himself. He was a hilarious, fiesty little player, ha.

And now…swim. Ahhhhhh.

LOVE these accidental action shots:

More fiesty personality from m’boy…

In all, I’m just really grateful (and tired, ha) following this fun weekend. And I’m looking forward to more family time over the next few days.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, peeps!

Over and out.
