It's taken a week to catch up on blog posts, but if you've stuck with me, this one's a good one, because on the big day, we woke up to this smiling girl...
and her two, new FRONT TEETH!!!
No joke. She literally got her two front (bottom) teeth for Christmas!
How awesome is that??!!!
Now, I must give some credit where credit is due. Santa--way to pull through!! (hehe...that rhymed). We asked for a tooth when we paid him a visit a few weeks ago, and he came through with double our request! Let's hope if Baby Girl's really, really good again next year, the big, red man will keep up his perfect record.
I should have known she was close to cutting them when she was doing this
...and this
...and this.
Cute, crazy kiddo.
In addition to the chompers, she was abundantly blessed with other gifts. But of course, like all kiddos her age, she was more interested in the wrapping paper.
Sadly, after a lovely meal of ham, sweet potatoes and green beans, my family had to depart. A few were headed to my cousin's wedding down in Florida, and a few had to work with inopportune travel dates to save money on airfare. And although the parting was tough, it was a strange but unexpected Christmas afternoon for our new little threesome to get to spend together, alone.
We played
...and napped
...while the snow accumulated outside.
And many, many times throughout the afternoon and into the evening, I marveled at the blessed year we've had, and gave thanks to God for the gifts we've received.
I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's, and I hope you stick with me as we return, tomorrow, to our normal, stream-of-consciousness, zany posts about the daily happenings around here.
